Really?

This morning I did the most annoying thing.  I hid the ends on a pendant I made and cut them off with scissors that were handy.  About 5 minutes later I saw some fuzz on the pendant and went to brush it off only to realise that I managed to cut the top of one double stitch when I cut the ends.  So its ruined.   I hate when you get to the end of a project and something as simple as cutting botches the whole thing.  I would show you a picture of the pendant but I'm still devastated. Sigh.

  1. oh no! That is annoying. Unfortunately, I've done that a couple of times too.

  2. That sounds very familiar. How frustrating. I'm looking forward to seeing pendant number two in due course.

  5. I've done that too, very annoying. I hope that when you've taken a deep breath you can think of a way of saving it.

  6. I carry a large flat sequin with a hole in it, I place the threads thru the sequin press down and trim. The sequin shields the tatting below.. I'm not capable of using scissors without cutting something I didn't mean to!

  7. First, you scream the worst words you can think of. Something like, "BURNED PORK CHOPS!!" Then, throw a piece of tatting thread on the floor and stomp on it. Then, you dry the tears and sigh.

I have never cut a stitch, but picots are always in danger when I get sharp things in my hands.

So sorry. Best of luck on a quick repair or a good stomping.

  8. I must tell you that I did not come up with the idea of the sequin. It came from (I hope I've recalled this correctly)Barbara Heavner.
